Sunday, September 28, 2025, will be remembered as a day of inspiration and celebration in Abakaliki as Master Abdulazim Omofolaranmi Busari Yusuff Aderibigbe, a 10-year-old literary prodigy and son of Oyo-born civil engineer, Alhaji (Engr.) Busari Yusuff Aderibigbe, unveiled his debut book titled “Courage in My Heart.”
The book launch, which coincided with Abdulazim’s 10th birthday, was both a book launch and a milestone celebration, drawing dignitaries from diverse sectors, including political leaders, business executives, academics, clerics, school authorities, family and friends, all gathered to honour the remarkable feat of a JSS1 student who has already emerged as an author.
In his remarks, the young writer disclosed that the book was inspired by his personal journey of overcoming fear and timidity at an early age.
“I used to be afraid of speaking out when I was younger, but I told myself that courage lives in the heart. Now I can express myself, defend my thoughts, stand by my words and even defend my friends and siblings,” he said confidently.
Abdulazim, who aspires to follow in his father’s footsteps as a civil engineer, explained that “Courage in My Heart” reflects his transformation and serves as an encouragement to other children to believe in themselves. He further pledged to continue writing, setting a personal goal of publishing at least one book annually.
Speaking to The Populist News correspondent, he advised his peers to remain focused on education, respect parents and teachers and nurture self-confidence.
“Boys and girls should pay attention in class, be obedient, and always stand for one another. Most importantly, they should be self-confident, ambitious and defend their words,” he stated.
The proud parents of the young author, Engr. Busari Yusuff Aderibigbe, a native of Atiba Local Government, Oyo State, and his wife, Mrs. Rukayat Busari, expressed immense gratitude to all who honoured the occasion.
“This is a dream come true for our family. We are grateful for the love and support shown to Abdulazim. Our prayer is that all children will continue to make themselves and their parents proud,” Engr. Busari said.
