Oyo PDP Youth Leaders Reaffirm Loyalty to Governor Makinde, Pass Vote of Confidence, and Pledge Massive Mobilization for 2027 Elections
The Youth Leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Oyo State Chapter, have reaffirmed their unwavering loyalty and support for the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde and the leadership of the party. This resolution was reached at the end of the Youth Leaders’ meeting held on Wednesday, 30th October 2025, at the PDP State Secretariat, Molete, Ibadan, under the chairmanship of the State Youth Leader, Hon. Lekan Bello.
The meeting, which had in attendance the 33 Local Government Youth Leaders and three Senatorial Youth Leaders, deliberated on issues affecting the youth wing of the party, ongoing developmental programmes, and strategic approaches to further strengthen the PDP across all local government areas in the state.
Present at the meeting were the State Oyo PDP Youth Leaders Reaffirm Loyalty to Governor Makinde, Pass Vote of Confidence, and Pledge Massive Mobilization for 2027 Elections, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro and the State Secretary, Hon. Oyelami Oyeyemi Joel, who both commended the youth leaders for their steadfastness and urged them to remain united, focused, and dedicated to ensuring victory for all PDP candidates in the 2027 general elections.
After extensive deliberations, the following resolutions were adopted:
COMMUNIQUÉ
1. The Youth Leaders unanimously reaffirmed their total loyalty to His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and to the leadership of the PDP in Oyo State. They pledged to remain steadfast, determined, and committed to delivering total victory for the PDP in the 2027 elections.
Echoing the words of Eleanor Roosevelt, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” The youth leaders declared their belief in the dream of a prosperous Oyo State and expressed their determination to make it a reality.
2. The Youth Leaders expressed profound gratitude to Governor Makinde for his inclusive governance and unwavering support for the youth. His leadership continues to inspire confidence and hope.
Citing Peter Drucker’s timeless wisdom, “The best way to predict the future is to create it,” the youth leaders pledged to join hands with the Governor in creating a brighter and more prosperous future for Oyo State.
3. The Youth Leaders commended the Governor for his remarkable achievements in infrastructural development, educational advancement, healthcare delivery, and economic empowerment. His administration’s people-centered approach, they noted, has repositioned Oyo State as a model for progressive governance in Nigeria.
4. A unanimous Vote of Confidence was passed on His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, in recognition of his outstanding performance, transparent governance, and commitment to youth inclusion and empowerment. The leaders reaffirmed their continued support for his administration.
5. The Youth Leaders declared their readiness to mobilize massively for all PDP candidates in the 2027 general elections. They pledged to intensify grassroots engagement and ensure a resounding victory for the PDP across all levels in Oyo State.
6. As the lifeblood of the party, the youth reaffirmed their resolve to strengthen mobilization, sensitization, and voter education initiatives. They promised to amplify awareness of the Governor’s developmental strides and ensure the PDP’s message resonates with every community across the state.
7. Recognizing that challenges are inevitable in every pursuit, the Youth Leaders drew inspiration from Nelson Mandela’s wise words: “The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”
They resolved to remain steadfast, resilient, and courageous in advancing the cause of the PDP and ensuring continued progress in Oyo State.
8. The Youth Leaders called on all PDP youths across Oyo State to remain united and supportive of the administration of His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde. They urged all members to promote peace, progress, and the enduring values of the People’s Democratic Party.
In conclusion, the State Youth Leader, Hon. Lekan Bello, appreciated all the 33 Local Government and 3 Senatorial Youth Leaders for their steadfastness, unity, and invaluable contributions to the growth and success of the PDP in Oyo State. He charged them to sustain their commitment and continue to work for the collective success of the party.
