As Christians across Oyo State, Nigeria, and the world commemorate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, I extend my warmest felicitations to the faithful on this sacred occasion of Easter.
Easter remains a profound symbol of sacrifice, redemption, and hope—representing the triumph of light over darkness and life over death. As captured in Gospel of John 11:25, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies.” This enduring message calls for deep reflection, renewed faith, and an unwavering commitment to righteousness.
I urge all Christians in Oyo State to use this solemn period for spiritual introspection, compassion, and a renewed dedication to the values of love, peace, and unity. As admonished in Epistle to the Romans 12:18, “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” These virtues remain essential not only for personal growth but also for societal progress.
Oyo State must continue to stand as a home for all, irrespective of religion, ethnicity, or political affiliation. Governance must reflect fairness, inclusivity, and tangible benefits for every citizen. Only through collective responsibility and equitable leadership can we build a state that truly works for all and leaves no one behind.
While we celebrate, we must not lose sight of the prevailing realities facing our nation. The persistence of insecurity in parts of the country continues to generate concern and uncertainty among our people. Recent tragic developments in places like Jos serve as sobering reminders of the urgent need for more responsive and proactive measures to safeguard lives and property.
There is a growing expectation among Nigerians that those entrusted with the responsibility of national security must listen more attentively and act more decisively in addressing these challenges.
As we mark this holy season, may the spirit of the resurrection inspire hope in our hearts, strengthen our unity, and guide our leaders toward justice, compassion, and responsible governance.
I wish all Christians in Oyo State a peaceful, joyful, and blessed Easter celebration.
